Founded in the City of Stratford in 1895 by Robert Thomas Orr, Orr Insurance Brokers Inc. has grown to be one of Stratford's largest and most enduring provider of insurance products and risk management solutions. The business continues to be owned by descendants of the Founder. His great-great-grandsons, Rick Orr and Jeff Orr proudly carry on the long standing traditions of integrity, assistance and efficiency. As part of that tradition, the offices of Orr Insurance Brokers Inc. are presently located in the former Orr Family Homestead built by the father of the Founder in 1874.
Orr Insurance and the Orr family have a long history of involvement in this community The tradition began in the days of R. Thomas Orr’s work in the early 1900’s and continues today with Tom, Rick, Jeff and all their family to so many of our local organizations. Evidence of their dedication and commitment to this community can be seen throughout the region; the park lands surrounding Lake Victoria, the Shakespeare Gardens, the Stratford Public Library, the Stratford Festival of Canada, the New Hospital Expansion and the New Stratford Agricultural and Recreational Complex have all benefited from the involvement of members of the Orr Family. Beyond their financial contributions, the Orr’s contribute so many volunteer hours and encourage their friends and staff to do so as well, in the hope of making our community a better place for all of us.
