About Us
In 1900 Thomas Quinlan McGoey (known as T.Q.) became an agent selling farm and fire insurance in and around Tottenham to augment his schoolmaster's salary. He died in 1908 at the age of 64 and his son Peter Ambrose McGoey took over his business.
In 1920 P.A. bought the building at 10 Mill St. E. (The Company’s present location) which had previously been a bank ad a post office. He lived there with his family and operated the business from a single room. Tom and Bernard were born there. He had customers within a 30 mile radius of Tottenham and would often be out on the road by 6 a.m. to reach farmers before they went out into the fields as few had telephones.
Today we have 18 employees and sell all types of insurance and financial services.
We are able to boast that we still serve many fourth and fifth generation customers.
